A quick(ie) update on this.

Evidently the City were acutely embarrassed at their lack of planning for the CALPERs financial bombshell and are scratching around trying to sort out the mess. In order to save the California Theater they attempted to ingratiate themselves with VenueTech, the current management company. But their plan to hopefully re-negotiate the contract to their advantage went south in typical fashion with VenueTech walking out. So it seems that the Theater will have to rely on future productions from adult material vendors, XXXTreme Pittsburg Creme.

With my sensors turned up to 11, I was able to hear the following…Knowledgeable sources close to the City fervently denying the rumor that a new City publication, Spank Weekly (or was that Spank Weakly?), would be on offer at the door of the theater on opening night. Or indeed that those in “appropriate” clothing (optional, of course) would be offered a tour of the soon to be refurbished Balcony of Punishment and Pain.
Keeping my end up,
