Pittsburg City Council Meeting
Monday, April 2, 2018, 7pm
City Hall Council Chambers, 3rd Floor
Agenda items of note:
PUBLIC HEARINGS
#5. Proposal to ban polystyrene. It’s good to know that our city leaders care about the safety and wellbeing of our citizens. Like when they refused to take a stance on the WesPac fracked-oil storage site, and allowing train cars containing deadly chemicals to park close to homes and pass near schools. And that they take no action when there is a near-disaster of a tanker carrying dangerous chemicals.
Good stuff.
CONSENT CALENDAR
#11. Acquisition of the property on Railroad Avenue in front of City Park. The City proposes to execute an inter-fund loan with the general fund borrowing up to $650,000 from the sewer fund to pay for the acquisition of the Property and associated expenses.
Good thing the City just raised our Water/Sewer rates… how else would they pay for the purchase of this land? (With plans, no doubt, to develop it in a manner that adds even more congestion to one of the worst traffic zones on Railroad Avenue.)
